Listing these for my Cousin’s husband who I unknowingly called from a Craigslist ad today
. He made me a good deal on the Varsity. The black bike is a internal geared hub 3 speed Schwinn Traveler (1960′s). The red one is a Continental (70′s) . The purple one as a Suburban (70′s). The blue one is a Collegiate Sport(70′s). Buy them please, keep me from going back for them lol

I almost bought a Varsity at wally world, You probably seen it a 200 dollar bike,it had good reviews, then I started reading the threads from the cycle world and I was starting to get nervous about getting one. luckly it was damaged in transit. But those older schwinns, now your talkin. They have alot of antiques at the Bicycle exchange on central,I just cant take the time in working on them, Good luck on the rebuild, doesnt look to bad, I like the old school speedo it has on it in the pics, keep it original.
You are going to be disappointed, I bought it with the intentions of converting it to a single speed. I have already stripped it down of the extra steel stuff I won’t be using. I doubt I will touch the paint though. I definitely need different rims, who knew steel rims were so heavy lol.
Hi I have a 1961 emerald green 24 inch Schwinn Speedster. Bought when I was 6 years old from a Topeka Schwinn dealer. Question is should I restore or sell. The front tire and rim were robbed from an old girls Schwinn when mine got bent years ago. It’s a white rim. My original rims were chrome. The chrome is rusty and had to put on new pedals years ago. Everything is original but the tires and the front rim, the seat and handle bar grips are original. Please advise or let me know if I can restore. Would like to keep but need to raise the seat and handle bars if I want to ride. Thanks Rory
Well that is completely up to you. Being it is a bike you actually owned all this time I think you would be crazy to sell it since it couldn’t possibly fetch more then then it would be with in memories alone. Let us know what you decide and how it turns out if you do restore it. Here is a link to a 64 traveler I restored its 100% original.
