This past weekend I attended the Art of the Bicycle and the next day I went to the swap meet. It was pretty cool and I got a few bikes. I got a little tiger Schwinn for my youngest she should be able to ride it next year. I also got a straight frame bike I had been looking for to set up like the old board track looking style. I cant wait to ride the rustically looking thing. Here’s a few pics of the events.

Weekend update

I rode this past weekend with the Coasters Bicycle Club for the “Ride Around Town” sponsored by the club ,Tom Sawyers Bicycle Shop and Wichita’s health and wellness program. It was a lot of fun and great, GREAT turn out.

Here is the Coasters coverage on the website.

Here is a link to a bunch of pics I took.

Invitation to Ride

Last but not least I am riding with a few friends out to Cheney Lake Saturday with departure time of 10:00 am. We will be heavily loaded becase we are going to actually camp out there over night. I am using this oppotunity to load my bike down with everything I hope to take on Bike Across Kansas ride I will be doing in 2 weeks. You are all welcome to join us . One friend is only joining for the ride out then he will ride back to town later that night. Me and my buddy Rob are going to stay the night. I will ride home Sunday early and he I think it going to ride to Afton and stay yet another night. Get with me via the Contact Page if you are interested in riding with us. You can also add me on Facebook as a good way of keeping up with activities you would be welcome at.

Unsupported B.A.K Ride

I am really hoping it works out because I would love nothing more for the experience itself to be 100% self supported suppported during this ride. I have pretty much already loaded my bike down and had plenty of room left for more clothes etc. I just have to see how it rides ffor a greater distance then just down my street. We shall see, I will post pics later of that ride and camp out trip.

Saturday, December 5th at 12:00pm.
The Coasters have been entered in the Delano District’s Christmas Parade. It’s the same day and just 2 hours before the Bikes For Tots parade but I think we can make both. Get double duty out of your holiday costume and/or decorated bike.
Note: For the Delano parade you and/or your bike must be decorated in a Christmas theme. No Santa’s though. There will be only one Santa and he’ll be leading the parade.

Meet at Lawrence Dumont Stadium no later than 11:30am just as we do for the St Patrick’s parade.
You may want to park your vehicle at the end of the parade route (Douglas & Seneca area) for a quick get-away to the BFT parade..

More info on the parade here.
